Name: Teleorhinus
Size: 25 ft. / 7.5 m. long

The genus teleorhinus is of the Pholidosauridae family. Recognized from the Late Jurassic period, 145 million years ago, this family would have existed up to 85 million years ago. Though mostly land carnivores, some show skeletal adaptations to aquatic life.

Estimated to be seven metres long, the teleorhinus had a long, slender snout and teeth which enabled it to prey on fish. The teleorhinus, like a crocodile today, would have been a very adept swimmer. Able to tuck its legs in close to its sides, with a wave of its tail it would have glided in a motion smooth enough to sneak up on any prey.
